As an American Citizen living abroad it fascinated me to read how so many people decided to give up their US citizenship due to the invasive tactics of the IRS and the recent enactment of The Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA).
I’d like to know if anyone in the US government believes this to be a real issue, or is it simply collateral damage in the effort to win votes.
I hope never to have to give up my US citizenship for financial concerns but as I see myself remaining in Europe for the forceable future, this article gave me grave pause and much concern.
